Nike Golf named a supporting partner in Golf Retirement Plus

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Oct. 18, 2004 – Nike Golf, a leading producer of golf equipment, footwear and apparel has been named a supporting partner in Golf Retirement Plus.

Nike Golf, headquartered in Beaverton, Ore., has been providing golfers with merchandise in every product category ever since it was formed in 1998. "The PGA of America is proud to welcome Nike Golf as a valued supporter of the PGA Professional. They are a company that continues to enhance and provide quality products to the industry," said PGA of America President M.G. Orender. "Nike Golf's commitment is an exciting addition to our family of partners in Golf Retirement Plus."

"Our steady growth within the golf industry is due in part to the commitment of and the opportunity provided to us by the PGA Professional," said Jeff Lienhart, national sales manager for Nike Golf. "Participation in Golf Retirement Plus is one way we can show our deep appreciation to these dedicated professionals."

Founded in 1997, Golf Retirement Plus is a supplemental retirement program for PGA Professionals and apprentices, GCSAA Superintendents, and CMAA Club Managers, which allows them to make their own contributions or have their employers contribute to their Golf Retirement Plus account. PGA Professionals may also earn personal incentives by participating in any of 42 Golf Retirement Plus Sponsor Programs.

The PGA of America, founded in 1916, is a not-for-profit organization that promotes the game of golf while continuing to enhance the standards of the profession. The Association is comprised of more than 28,000 men and women PGA Professionals who are dedicated to growing participation in the game of golf.
