FAIRHAVEN, Mass. -- In an ending worthy of a Disney script, Lucas Glover earned his first career PGA Tour victory, culminating with dramatic birdies on the final two holes at the FUNAI Classic at Walt Disney World Resort.
It proved to be a Titleist 1-2 tee-to-green finish when Glover drained a 40-foot putt from the fringe on the 71st hole and converted a 35-foot bunker shot on the final hole to edge Tom Pernice, Jr.
Glover closed with a 7-under 65 to finish the week at 23-under 265. The win moves him into 28th position on the PGA Tour Money List with the top 30 receiving invitations to the TOUR Championship in two weeks. The 25-year-old Glover was among 10 players with a chance to win over the final four holes, including Titleist full-line staff player and defending champion Ryan Palmer, who finished in a five-way tie for third that included fellow Pro V1x players Harrison Frazar and Geoff Ogilvy.

Titleist topped the golf ball count with 97 players, more than six times the nearest competitor with 16. Titleist was also the top choice of players in the iron (27), utility iron (3-tie), wedge (136) and putter (54) categories. This was the 24th win for Titleist golf ball players on the 2005 PGA TOUR, more than all competitors combined.
PGA European Tour: Jose Maria Olazabal shot a final round 4-under 66 to win the Mallorca Classic by five shots for his first tournament title in nearly four years. Olazabal, who relied upon the Titleist Pro V1 golf ball for his success, made four birdies on the front nine and then parred in to beat the world's sixth-ranked player and defending champion, as well as Jose Manuel Lara and Paul Broadhurst, all Pro V1x players. Overall, Titleist topped the golf ball count with 94 of the 120 players in the field, 80 more than the nearest competitor with 14. Olazabal's victory was the 24th for Titleist players on the 2005 PGA European Tour, more than all other golf balls combined.
Champions Tour: Titleist ambassador Jay Haas recorded his second Champions Tour victory in three weeks, shooting a second straight 5-under par 66 for a two-stroke victory over Titleist Pro V1x player Tom Purtzer at the SBC Championship. Haas finished at 14-under 199, winning for the second time in his career at Oak Hills Country Club, site of his Valero Texas Open victory on the PGA TOUR in 1993. Like this week's PGA Tour winner Lucas Glover, Haas relies on Titleist equipment from tee-to-green. His set-up includes the Pro V1 golf ball, Titleist Titanium 983K driver, Pro Trajectory 904F 3 and 5 woods, Forged 690.CB irons, Vokey Design sand and lob wedges and a Scotty Cameron by Titleist Studio Design putter. Titleist player Mark James (Pro V1x) finished third, followed by Dana Quigley (Pro V1) and R.W. Eaks (Pro V1x) in fourth, as 9 of the top 10 finishers trusted Titleist golf balls. A total of 61 players in the field of 78 relied on Titleist, nearly eight times the nearest competitor with 10. Titleist players have won 22 of the 26 events played on the 2005 Champions Tour.
Japan Tour: Overnight co-leader and Titleist Pro V1 loyalist David Smail fired a final round 5-under par 67 and held off a late charge from Pro V1x player Toru Suzuki for a Titleist 1-2 finish at the Bridgestone Open. The win was Titleist's 11th victory on the 2005 Japan Tour and Smail's second. Titleist was the most played golf ball at the event with 40 players.
