Stonebridge staff holds a Fall Fun Day

OTTAWA, Ontario, Canada -- Superintendent R. David Dickinson and the staff of the turf maintenance department at Stonebridge Golf & Country Club, Ottawa, Ontario, hosted a Fall Fun Day recently.

Dickinson said the goals of the event were to:

* Raise money for hurricane relief efforts
* Meet certification requirements of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program For Golf Courses
* Educate community residents about golf course maintenance
* Promote environmental awareness and responsibility

More than 180 residents of the Stonebridge community attended the Fall Fun Day which included hay wagon rides, hole-in-one challenge, silent auction, kid's bird house construction, turf center tours, equipment demonstrations, Little Ray's Reptile Zoo, free pumpkins, hot dogs and soft drinks.

Dickinson said that $217 dollars was raised and donated to the Canadian Red Cross in support of hurricane relief efforts.
