Golfers can book tee-times online for BraeBen (Miss.)

MISSISSAUGA, Miss. -- Golfers can now book tee-times online for the City of Mississauga's newly opened BraeBen Golf Course.

The system will be in place for the remainder of this golf season, in preparation for a busy spring. This new service is the latest project in Mississauga's ongoing electronic service delivery initiative dubbed "eCity".

"The response to BraeBen, our new golf course, has been overwhelming and that sometimes means on certain days it may be difficult to get the tee-time of your choice," said Marc Skinner, manager of operations for BraeBen. "This new system enables our clients to see all the available times for the next five days and to select the time that best works for them - they can even make bookings after hours because the system is available 24-hours a day, 7 days a week."

Users can access the service by visiting www.braeben.ca. From there, they enter the date, time, and number of golfers in their party and the nearest available time is displayed. To secure the spot, a valid credit card number is required. Once the spot is secured, an email is sent to the client to confirm the booking. Users can cancel the booking online up to 24-hours before the booking (after that, they simply call the Pro Shop).

"Enabling our clients to reserve their tee-times online is a valuable service option, especially because our Pro Shop will be freed up to deal with face-to-face customers," said Skinner. "Now our customers will spend less time on the phone waiting to reserve their tee-times and more time enjoying themselves out on the golf course."

The brand new, critically acclaimed BraeBen Golf Course has been designed to be -True to the Scottish Highlands." The name of the course - "BraeBen" - is Gaelic for "slope" and "mountain or hill." The course features dramatic terrain, tall rough grasses, gnarled trees and shrubs, pristine fairways punctuated with challenging pot bunkers - all reminiscent of golf's early beginnings. BraeBen is located at 5700 Terry Fox Way in Mississauga. For more information visit: www.braeben.ca.
