NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Tidewater Golf Club is number five on Golf Digest’s list of the “Top 50 Courses of Myrtle Beach.”
The Top 50 marks the first time that Golf Digest has named “the best [Myrtle Beach] has to offer” among the Grand Strand’s 117 golf courses.
The rankings are published in the November edition of Golf Digest (now on news stands) and available online at www.golfdigest.com/myrtle. They are based on the opinions of Golf Digest’s panel of raters, a group of 800-plus low-handicap golfers. These golfers also rate “America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses” and “America’s 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses.”
The Top 50 ranking is the latest in a long line of accolades for Tidewater, which is often called the “Pebble Beach of the East.” Tidewater’s scenic beauty and challenging design captured the best new course ranking of both Golf Digest and Golf Magazine when the course opened in 1990.
Over the years, as the course has matured, Tidewater has continued to earn national recognition, as well as the praise of both golf writers and players. Tidewater is on Golf Magazine’s prestigious listing of Top 100 Places You Can Play in the United States and, in an on-line survey of readers conducted by Golf Magazine, Tidewater was rated 8th Best Course out of the Top Ten Resorts and Public Courses in America.
