Players begin fight for tour card in Florida

LUTZ, Fla. -- The Tournament Players Club of Tampa Bay is currently holding the first stage of PGA TOUR qualifying on October 16-21, 2005.

The par 71, 6898-yard championship facility is hosting players from around the world who are be playing for the privilege of competing on the 2006 PGA TOUR.

To qualify to play on the PGA TOUR players must advance through a rigorous three stage qualification process. The top players who advance after the four rounds at the Tournament Players Club of Tampa Bay, will play in the second stage held in mid-November at six qualifying sites nationwide. Second stage qualifying sites include the Hombre Golf Club
in Panama City Beach, FL and the World Golf Village King & Bear Course in St. Augustine, FL.

The final stage of PGA TOUR Qualifying involves six consecutive rounds of golf where only the top players will qualify to play full time on the 2006 PGA TOUR. The final stage of PGA TOUR qualifying will be held December 3-8 at Orange County National Golf Club in Winter Garden, FL.

Players will play in groups of three, with play beginning on the first and tenth tee each morning. Spectators and media are welcome.
