If you're golfing anywhere around Philadelphia or even the Wilmington, Delaware area (in which case you'd be better be staying in Philly for the civilization), a real cheesesteak is a most stop.
And no, what you've had at the foodcourt at the mall in Indiana does not qualify.
You need to head to Passyunk and get into line. Just make sure it's the right one.
For as much as the cheesesteak choice is debated in Philly, it's no contest. Pat's is your choice. And it’s not even that close. Don’t go across the street to Geno’s neon for an inconsistent imitator.
Pat's is as consistent as Roger Clemens, the Patriots and taxes. Geno's is as about as sure as the 2005 Randy Johnson. You just don't know what you're going to get night to night. And even at its best, Geno's is hardly up to Pat's worst.
For a complete rundown on the Philadelphia scene, stay tuned to PennsylvaniaGolf.com. For a package of stories on Wilmington golf, an area where you want to play but not stay, look to MidAtlanticGolf.com in the upcoming weeks.
For a cheesesteak, stop the waffling and just step up to Pat's, ready to bark "With" or "Without". As for Geno's? Well, its lights come in handy as a guide. Use it like a lighthouse, not a place to chow.
