Lowcountry Golf School Junior Golf Tour to be held in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- The Myrtle Beach National Company announced that it will host the Lowcountry Golf School Junior Golf Tour, beginning with the October 22-23 tournament at Waterway Hills in North Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The six junior golf tournaments will be held monthly at different Myrtle Beach National Company golf courses and will run through April of 2006, culminating with the LCGS Junior Tour Championship at Willbrook Plantation.

The LCGS Junior Tour is comprised of three divisions; Elite, Links and Developmental. The Elite Division is open to boys and girls aged 10 to 18 who average a score of 100 or less over 18 holes. The Links Divison is open to junior golfers, eight to 18 years old, who average a score of 65 or less during a nine-hole round. The Developmental Division is open for all juniors seven to 10 years old with the only requirement being that they can walk and pull their clubs.

Each division will play during all dates of the tour with varying requirements. Within each division will be age categories so that play is kept competitive, yet fair. Points will be accumulated toward Player of the Year and Low Medalist awards which will be presented in each age category.

The LCGS Junior Tour provides a year-round professional and competitive environment competition for juniors who aspire to play golf at a higher level.
