Miracle Charity Golf Tournament set for Oct. 14 in Florida

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Slicers and hackers or those that are more than just weekend golfers are invited to play in Miracle Baseball's Sixth Annual Miracle Charity Golf Tournament presented by Eye Physicians of Florida on Friday, October 14 at the Golf Club in Cape Coral benefiting the Foundation Fighting Blindness.

The tournament tees off with a lunch and registration from 11:30 - 1:00 p.m. The shotgun start begins at 1:00 p.m. and a reception follows the tournament. Golfers receive lunch, golf, reception, goodie bag and golf shirt all presented by Eye Physicians of Florida, as well as a chance to bid on some spectacular sports items and enter a raffle for other great prizes. The donation is $500 per foursome which also includes a hole sign.

"The response we have gotten in the first five year of our golf tournament has been spectacular," said Miracle General Manager Steve Gliner. "Last year the tournament was postponed twice by the hurricanes and the response was still over the top. Everyone has a charity that's important to them and the Foundation Fighting Blindness is not only close to the Miracle, but especially our ownership group of Mike Veeck and Marv Goldklang."

Golfers will enjoy the tournament in typical Miracle fashion with whacky holes throughout the course. Enjoy the Phil Mickelson hole, where each participant plays left handed, the bar stool hole, where participants must tee off sitting on a bar stool as well as the longest drive and closest to the pin competition.
