In response to the destruction left in the wake of the recent hurricanes, the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) has added a new members-only forum to its Web site (www.gcsaa.org) to provide assistance in hurricane recovery, including remedies for members and their golf facilities. The forum gives members the opportunity to post open positions for workers that may have been displaced by the storms and allows golf courses affected by the storms to request labor assistance.
GCSAA members may post questions regarding recovery, suggest resources to help in the cleanup or offer resources for non-work related recovery.
“This is a challenging time for golf facilities in the Gulf Coast region,” said GCSAA President Timothy T. O’Neill, CGCS. “This forum will enhance communications and provide assistance to those members who are facing clean up conditions.”
General discussion on the storms should be conducted on the GCSAA “Talking it Over” forum.
The GCSAA discussion forums are members-only. If you are not a member, but would like to offer assistance, please contact Scott Woodhead, GCSAA senior manager of governance and member standards, at (800) 472-7878 , ext. 4418.
