Reflection Bay, the previously untouchable Jack Nicklaus signature design at Lake Las Vegas, took a few lumps last year. Golfers still left satisfied this summer, but not quite as wowed as the reputation would suggest. One bold golf writer even dared to offer that the newage Vegas legend might not be worth the $200 plus greens fees, risking condemnation (hint, he writes a mean blog).

But now, it appears the Bay is primed to bounce back better than ever. Reflection Bay just completed a great overseed and people in the Vegas golf industry believe it may be as pristine now as it was in its first few years of operation. If that's the case, it could once again challenge as the best course in the Vegas area.

"They got hammered a little last year," said one Vegas golf insider. "Everyone thought they would come back that much stronger and it looks like they have."

Comebacks are relative. Reflection Bay never had far to go even on its worst day. But if it's back to its golf magazine cover collecting prime, Vegas golf is that much better.
