Grande Dunes private course to open in spring

MYRTLE BEACH, SC. – Oct. 15, 2004 – The second course at prestigious Grande Dunes in Myrtle Beach, S.C., is on schedule to open in spring 2005. Designed to be an exclusive private course, The Members Club at Grande Dunes is the newest amenity added to the multi-billion dollar, 2,200-acre master-planned community of Grande Dunes.

Designed by PGA TOUR Hall of Famer Nick Price and award-winning golf course architect Craig Schreiner, The Members Club is the second course to be built within Grande Dunes. It joins the Roger Rulewich-designed Grande Dunes Resort Course, which was ranked one of the Top 10 new courses to play by Golf Magazine.

The private Members Club at Grande Dunes is a par 71 that measures 7,048 yards from the championship tees. It has L93 Bent grass greens and TifSport Bermuda grass fairways and teeing areas. Bunkers are filled with Felspar Quartz sand.

A 27,000 square foot Clubhouse is also under construction for a spring 2005 opening. The veranda of the Italianate Clubhouse will provide spectacular views of the finishing holes, as well as a lake featuring three individual islands lushly landscaped with native plants and trees.

A practice range designed and groomed to resemble actual playing conditions will be available to members of the club. In addition, two large putting greens, as well as chipping and bunker areas, are available.

The Members Club at Grande Dunes is the innovative concept of Grande Dunes Development Company, LLC, an affiliate of Burroughs & Chapin Company, Inc.
