SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- The San Diego Gulls and the Athletes for Education Foundation are inviting all fans to participate in a preseason golf tournament, to be held Monday, Oct. 17 at Carmel Mountain Ranch Country Club.

All current Gulls players and staff members, past Gulls legends and local celebrities will be participating in the tournament, which will benefit the AFE Foundation's "Tickets for Tomorrow" mentorship program.

AFE's objective is to encourage youth to be creative, build bridges instead of walls and dare to dream. The foundation's goal is to challenge youth to persevere and develop self-confidence so they can make their dreams come true.

The "Tickets for Tomorrow" mentorship program works with teachers from San Diego middle and high schools, as well as local youth organizations, to help identify students excelling inside the classroom. Tickets will be awarded to those deserving students for six pre-chosen Gulls games during the 2005-06 season. Each student will be allowed to invite one parent and Gulls players will personally deliver his/her tickets.

All fees include a golf cart, participant gifts, King's Fish House lunch and awards dinner.
