MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- The Tournament Players Club of Myrtle Beach, the 2005 Myrtle Beach Golf Course of the Year, is closing the course on Friday, September 9th to help raise money for Hurricane Katrina victims.
All golfers who donate at least $25 will receive a free Friday tee time at TPC. All funds will be donated to the American Red Cross who will have a representative on site to collect the contributions.
TPC hopes to make a donation of at least $5,475 Friday with the help of golfers.
“The TPC of Myrtle Beach is honored to be a part of the effort to help Hurricane Katrina victims get back on their feet,” said Rick Shoemaker, TPC of Myrtle Beach’s director of golf. “This is just our little way of helping the American Red Cross and we hope golfers throughout the Grand Strand and South Carolina will join us in supporting the Red Cross. We hope to host another similar fundraiser in the very near future if Friday’s event is successful.”
