Orange County National Golf Center & Lodge in Orlando, is making an effort to raise $40,000 for victims of Hurricane Katrina by Labor Day. And their method of doing so will also benefit golfers looking to play a great course at a great rate.
On Labor Day (Monday, Sept. 5), Orange County National is offering this deal: For a minimum donation of $30 to the American Red Cross, you'll get a round of golf and free lunch. For players who can't get there on Monday, they are also offering these deals on prepaid foursomes:
* 100 foursomes for September play for $100 each;
* 100 foursomes for October play at $120 each;
* 50 foursomes for November play at $150 each;
* 25 foursomes in December at $150 each.
"We're not taking a dime, we're sending it all to the Red Cross," Orange County National General Manager Bruce Gerlander said. "The best news about it is people at other courses are calling and looking to set up something like this themselves."
