TEMECULA, Calif. -- After winning recognition as ‘2005 Golf Clubs of the Year’’ for its ADR Series, Akira Products of Japan now unveils its all-new ADR Ladies series of woods and irons. The new game improvement series incorporates Akira’s world-acclaimed ‘Akira Driving Result’ (ADR) technology with elegant lines and classic styling.
“Well known as one of the world’s elite golf equipment manufacturers, Akira Products has set the bar extremely high with its new ADR Ladies Series,” says Mike Matheny, president of Eastern Golf Company of Temecula, Calif., exclusive distributor of Akira golf clubs in the United States. “The introduction of the ADR technology into a premium series of woods and irons specifically engineered for ladies is a significant new offering for discriminating women golfers who want both world-class technology and premium styling.”
The 365cc Akira ADR Ladies Driver incorporates a precision cast 6-4 titanium body with a high-repulsion, Variable Density Face (VDF) titanium face plate that maximizes distance and forgiveness with an engineered uniform face thickness. The driver also offers a low center of gravity with strategically positioned tungsten weighting in the sole for higher launch-ability. The ADR Ladies Fairway Woods feature a super-hard Hyper Maraging 475 steel face and a tungsten-weighted body of X-25 steel. The Akira ADR Ladies irons (4-iron through SW) are forged from advanced Hyper Maraging 475 steel on the face to control spin and distance, and a barbell-shaped tungsten weight is positioned low in the rear of the sole to generate a high trajectory and maximize ball control and accuracy.
Matheny explains that through innovative technology and creative engineering such as stabilizing beam structures, hyper-steel manufacturing and variable face densities, Akira offers a wide range of golf equipment dedicated to providing maximum satisfaction to every golfer. Akira’s ADR Series was recently named 2005 Golf Clubs of the Year in the golf book 2005-2006, Don’t Make a Wrong Choice of a Golf Club by professional golfer Mr. Kenjirou Iwama. The book published the scientific analysis for 94 different golf club brands tested in 45 different swing patterns, and then rated each club on clubhead speed, swing trajectory and face angle. Through the rating system, the Akira ADR Series driver, ADR fairway wood and ADR irons were selected as the best of the best.
The suggested retail price is $678 for a ADR Ladies driver; $368 per ADR Ladies fairway wood; and $1,899 for a full set of ADR Ladies irons (4-iron through SW).
