So Phil Mickelson wins the PGA Championship. Only needing an inexplicably overconfident Tiger Woods first-round 75, an even worse underachiever than him (Davis Love III) as a final round playing partner and a Mother Nature and CBS TV combination one-day delay to make it happen.

Sounds like an easy recipe for frequent repeats, no?

But seriously, enough of you Lefty doubters dragging the man's legacy down! This blogger, for one, is sick of it. Sure, someone may have shouted loudly and repeatedly that your future finals majors count would read Tiger 22, Phil 1. But the shame is a little easier to take knowing that as George, one of TravelGolf.com's more perceptive readers, noted, I'm a guaranteed future Power Ball winner.

Maybe, I can use some of the money to get to play a round with Phil. Mickelson's proceeds would be donated to charity of course. He's really a great guy you know.

And there's no way he knew a microphone was on, when he was going around telling everyone, "Thank you so much." At one point, I think he hugged the stunned Baltusrol janitor, but maybe I'm mistaken.

On a serious note, there is no doubt Mickelson's win is great for golf. His final round showdown with Tiger at Doral remains the single most captivating round of the year, no matter the no major stakes. Here's hoping Phil keeps it up, so they can wage one of those when it's all on the line.

The funniest thing to come out of Mickelson's win may be TravelGolf.com National Golf Editor Tim McDonald inferring that he was somehow the only one on this board who believed in Phil (despite calling him a choker second only to yours truly). McDonald even went as far as ripping on his brain buddy Rebel Blogger, when if you actually read Rebel's blog you'll see he panders to the Lefty fans like Karl Rove reaches out to the religious right. While, trying to tap into some of that anti-brilliant blogger sentiment.

Sorry Old Man Mac and Rebel. You guys are no Jennifer Mario. Just don't have the game. Readers see right through you.
