Nike's Jason Gore's third Nationwide Tour win earns him PGA Tour slot

BEAVERTON, Ore. (August 8, 2005) - The name Jason Gore continues to thrive in the golf world as he has added another victory to his Nationwide Tour accolades.

Gore, a Nike Golf staff member, has performed remarkably since his memorable U.S. Open performance, having won three times on the Nationwide Tour in three consecutive starts. His significant victory at last week's Cox Classic Presented by Chevrolet earned him the Battlefield Promotion, an immediate ticket to the PGA Tour, making him the seventh player in Nationwide Tour history to earn the Battlefield Promotion.

While his week was impressive overall, the highlight was his jaw-dropping second round when he carded a 12-under-par round of 59. He used Nike Golf's Pro Combo Tour irons to assist in getting him into birdie position on multiple holes. In fact, he made nine birdies and two eagles en route to his 59. In the final round, he began the day four shots from the lead and shot an eight-under-par score of 63 to get himself into a sudden-death playoff situation. He birdied the second extra hole to capture his sixth career Nationwide Tour victory and the number one position on the 2005 Nationwide Tour money list.

On top of Gore's victory and adding to Nike Golf's success, is Nike Golf staff member Kay Fukabori, who captured his first victory of the season at the Sun Chlorella Classic in Japan. Like many Nike staff members on the PGA Tour, Fukabori plays the winning combination of the Nike Ignite Driver and the One Platinum ball. Rounding out the arsenal in his bag are the Nike Forged Blades and the Nike Forged Wedges. His victory brings the total wins for Nike Golf on the world's professional tours this year to 15 (6 on the PGA Tour; 6 on the Nationwide; and 3 internationally).

Both Gore and Fukabori wear Nike Golf apparel as well as Nike Golf's popular SP-6 footwear.
