The Creek at Hard Labor golf course near Madison, Ga. will re-open August 13, after being closed most of the summer to allow maintenance crews to convert the greens to a new ultra dwarf hybrid Bermuda, called Champion Bermuda. The scientifically-propagated grass will greatly enhance the golfing experience at the course.
Additionally the greens at The Creek were enlarged 65% overall, a much needed improvement.
“With the new grass and the increase in putting surfaces, our greens may well be the best in the area,” enthused Terry Phillips, course manager. The rates are certainly some of the most attractive. The weekday rate is just $35 and the weekend rate is $45 for 18 holes with cart.
Tee times are being accepted by calling 706-557-3006 or toll free 1-888-353-4592. The Creek at Hard Labor is located in Rutledge, 5 miles north of I-20 at Exit 105, just minutes east of Covington.
The Golf Operations Section develops and operates the golf facilities in the Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites Division. The eight courses were built over the past forty-five years and placed in various state parks to improve the quality of life for local citizens and provide visitors to Georgia an opportunity to play great value golf in a beautiful, natural setting.
