Titleist players record five victories in record-breaking week

FAIRHAVEN, Mass. (Aug. 1, 2005) -- Week in and week out, the overwhelming
majority of players trust their games to Titleist, and that trust is
rewarded with more wins than all other golf balls combined. Vijay Singh
anchored a five-championship day for Titleist with his historic win at the
Buick Open. Relying upon the Titleist Pro V1x, Singh won the Buick Open by
four strokes, becoming the first three-time champion of this tournament.
Singh closed with a 2-under 70 to finish at 24-under par 264 and joined
Tony Lema (1964-65) as the only two players to repeat as champion at the
Buick Open. It was Singh's fourth victory of 2005 and 28th of his career.
Zach Johnson (Pro V1x, 905T driver, 503.H utility iron, DCI 990 irons and
Vokey Design wedges) shot a final round 3-under 69 and finished in a tie
for second place at 20-under-par.

Titleist topped the golf ball count with 111 players, nearly seven times
more than the nearest competitor with 16. Titleist was also the field
favorite in the iron (32), utility iron (9), wedge (153) and putter (56)
categories.

LPGA TOUR: Jeong Jang relied on the Pro V1 to win convincingly at the
Weetabix Women's British Open. Jang led wire-to-wire for her first major
victory and her first career win. She was the only player to fire four
consecutive rounds in the 60's, finishing with 16-under-par 272. More than
five times as many players relied upon Titleist (111) golf balls than the
nearest competitor (21) at the event. Jang's win was the 13th for Titleist
players on the 2005 LPGA Tour, more than all other golf balls combined.

CHAMPIONS TOUR: Allen Doyle staged the second biggest comeback in major
championship history, trusting the Pro V1 as he came from nine strokes
behind to win his third Champions Tour major at the U.S. Senior Open. He
closed with a bogey-free 63 to set the course record and shatter the U.S.
Senior Open final-round scoring record.

With 116 players, Titleist was once again the overwhelming golf ball choice
compared to the nearest competitor with 25. In fact, Doyle topped a
leaderboard that featured Titleist golf ball loyalists sweeping the top
five positions, including Loren Roberts (T2/Pro V1) and D.A. Weibring
(T2/Pro V1). Through 18 events this year on the Champions Tour, 14 have
been won using a Titleist golf ball.

PGA EUROPEAN TOUR: Needing a sponsor's invitation to enter the tournament,
Australian Mark Hensby played the Titleist Pro V1 enroute to parring the
second playoff hole Sunday and winning the Scandinavian Masters for his
first PGA European Tour title and his fifth win as a professional. Hensby,
a PGA Tour regular, birdied the final two holes in regulation to force a
playoff. Marc Cayeux (Pro V1x), a European Tour rookie from Zimbabwe,
closed with a 65 to tie for third.

NATIONWIDE TOUR: Joe Daley made a birdie on the first playoff hole to
claim the victory at the Preferred Health Systems Wichita Open. The win is
Daley's first on the Nationwide Tour since he won the Louisiana Open during
his rookie season in 1997. Relying upon the Pro V1, Daley fired a
6-under-par 65 to finish one stroke clear of Mathew Goggin (Pro V1x) and
two clear of Jason Schultz (Pro V1x) and Charley Hoffman (Pro V1, Forged
680 irons). Daley is the 14th player to win with Titleist golf balls
through the first 18 Nationwide Tour events this year. At the Preferred
Health Systems Wichita Open, nearly nine times as many players relied upon
Titleist (116) golf balls than the nearest competitor (13).

When players come down the stretch, they know they can trust the superior
performance and consistency of Titleist. That's why more of the world's
best tee up the #1 ball in golf. In fact, so far this year, players have
teed up Titleist golf balls 14,450 times at tournaments around the world,
more than six times the nearest competitor with 2,323. That trust has been
rewarded as Titleist golf ball loyalists have won 99 times, compared to 23
for the nearest competitor, which is more than all other golf balls
combined.
