Florida Space Coast Golf Association hires new executive director

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. (July 2005) -- The Florida Space Coast Golf Association representing the newest addition to golf destinations in Florida has brought Mike Floyd on board as their new Executive Director.

Mike is a PGA member who began his golf career in 1977 at Walt Disney World's 99 Holes of Golf, starting in operations, then as Tournament Coordinator, Senior Golf Sales Manager, and Head Golf Professional. After 25 years of Disney service, Mike moved on to open Orange County National Golf Center as their Director of Golf. In January 1998, he became Southeast Regional Director of In 2000, Mike created a golf consulting business, All Aspects and served as General Manager for Space Coast National Golf Club in Titusville, then at Grenelefe Golf and Tennis Resort as their Director of Sports Sales. In 2001, Mike moved to Pinehurst NC, as the Executive Director of the Sandhills Golf Association.

Florida's Space Coast Golf Association President, Brian Bauer, states that "Mike's professional experience is very well-diversified and will be a great asset for the FSCGA. Mike will head up the Association programs and will be developing new opportunities for the Brevard business owners to get involved in branding Brevard County as a major golf destination.

Mike adds that he is ".incredibly excited about this great opportunity to represent such an outstanding group of top quality golf courses and accommodations. It is great to be coming back home to Central Florida and support the members of the FSCGA and the TDC in promoting tourism in Brevard County".
