Zero Friction Golf Tee again leads both PGA And Nationwide Tours

ITASCA, IL. -- For the second consecutive week, the winners on both the PGA Tour and Nationwide Tour used the revolutionary Zero Friction Golf Teeā„¢ to achieve their victories.

Last Sunday, the winner on the Nationwide Tour used Zero Friction's unique three-pronged teeing system to record his second straight victory, capturing the Scholarship America Showdown at Troy Burne Golf Club in Hudson, Wisc. The week prior he captured the National Mining Association Pete Dye Classic.

If the golfer, who gained acclaim as the people's favorite at this year's U.S. Open, wins one more Nationwide event this season he'll automatically qualify for exempt status on the PGA Tour and he continues to play Zero Friction Golf Tee to get him there.

On the PGA Tour, the Zero Friction Golf Tee again was in the winner's circle, this time at the B.C. Open at En-Joie Golf Club in Endicott, NY. Last week, the winner of the John Deere Classic took the Zero Friction route to record his first PGA Tour win and thereby qualifying for the British Open, where he finished tied for 15th.

"This is outstanding," says Mike Herron, Business Development Manager for Excel Golf Tee, Inc., the parent company of Zero Friction. "Having winners on both major tours for two straight weeks shows how valuable and important a piece of equipment the Zero Friction Golf Tee is for golfers."

There were more than just the victories in the way the Zero Friction helped top golfers perform. In addition to the win at the B.C. Open, golfers who finished tied for second and tied for ninth teed it up with the Zero Friction. In the final round, the golfer who tied for ninth fired a 10-under par 62, the low round of the tournament.

Overall, 12 of the 19 players using the Zero Friction Golf Tee at the B.C. Open made the cut. Of those, three finished in the top-10 in driving distance.

The statistics were similar on the Nationwide Tour. The winner of the Scholarship America Showdown led in driving distance with an average of more than 306 yards per drive. He also tied for eighth driving accuracy - another important factor in Zero Friction's success - and tied for first in greens in regulation.

Since being introduced to the PGA Tour in the beginning of May, Zero Friction users have recorded three wins, three second-place finishes and 19 top-10's. On the Nationwide Tour that total has reached two victories, a second and five top-10's.

The Zero Friction tee provides less resistance between the golf ball and the golf tee for longer, straighter drives. Its reduced spin rate fights dispersion, thereby keeping the ball on line and in the fairway.
