MIAMI -- In the latest of a wave of new licensees, Golf Headquarters in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is the latest quality custom clubmaker to join the SST PURE® shaft alignment network.

Operated by the father-and-son team of Charlie and Nathan Updegraff, Golf Headquarters provides golfers in the Cedar Rapids are with state-of-the-art clubfitting technology. Nathan Updegraff recently spent two weeks with the SST PURE Shaft Alignment Lab at the Western Open and the John Deere Classic.

"It was a fantastic experience to see what goes into PUREing shafts and building clubs for the best players in the world," Updegraff said. "It's a great feeling to know that with SST PURE I can now offer the same level of quality to our customers."

The addition of Golf Headquarters is the latest in a recent wave of new licensees to the SST PURE network. Currently more than 40 custom clubmakers and manufacturers offer the process to the public.

Using proprietary computer software and sensitive data-acquisition sensors, the SST PURE shaft alignment process analyzes the structural irregularities that exist to some degree in every golf shaft and locates the shaft's most stable orientation. By assembling the club with the shaft in its PURE orientation, off-line bending and twisting of the shaft are minimized and impact repeatability on the center of the clubface by the golfer improves up to 51 percent. The process can be performed on existing clubs, new clubs or new shafts - steel or graphite - from most major manufacturers. To date, more than 200 players on the PGA Tour have experienced the benefit of SST PURE Shaft Alignment.
