Srixon's Tim Clark won Barclays Scottish Open playing a Z-UR ball

ATLANTA -- Srixon Staff Professional Tim Clark won the Barclays Scottish Open at Loch Lomond Golf Club in Luss, Scotland July 10. Clark played with Srixon's Z-UR golf ball to finish at 19-under par for a 265 total (67-66-65-67) also tying the 72-hole scoring record at Loch Lomond, set by Srixon Staff Professional Tom Lehman in 1997. Carrying a one shot lead into Loch Lomond's 18th hole, Clark again relied on his precision game and Z-UR golf ball and once again found his target landing his approach shot inside of 18 feet. The subsequent clutch birdie putt assured him of the two-shot victory and a share of the record. This marks Clark's second win on the European Tour this season (his first at the South African Open), along with three Top 4's on the PGA Tour, including a tie for 3rd place at the U.S. Open.

His victory on Sunday was even more impressive considering the stellar field at Loch Lomond which included the world's 3rd, 4th, 5th and 7th ranked players. As a result of this phenomenal win, Clark broke into the Top 20 for the first time on the Official World Golf Rankings this week by moving up nine spots to 17th place. He also surpassed the $2 million mark in worldwide earnings this year for the first time in his career. Clark currently ranks 14th overall on the PGA Tour's scoring average.

Clark is enjoying his finest season as a professional, and he credits the switch to Srixon as one of the reasons for his great play. "I switched equipment this year to Srixon and it's given me added length, which has really helped me on the weekend," said Clark. "I feel I can now win more and more tournaments. I can play under the pressure of needing to play well." He has already earned more money on the PGA Tour through the month of June than he had all of 2004 and doubled his previous victory total on the European Tour.

Srixon's Miguel Angel Jimenez tied for 8th place at the Barclays Scottish Open playing with Srixon's Z-UR golf ball by shooting a 14-under par, 270 total.

On the Japan Ladies Tour, Srixon Staff Professional Junko Omote played with Srixon's Z-UR prototype golf ball to win the Chateaules Ladies shooting a 2-under par total. Srixon Staff Professional Yeo Jin Kang tied for third playing Srixon's Z-UR and shooting a 1-under par total. Also in Japan, Srixon Staff Professional Kazuhiko Hosokawa tied for 5th place at the Japan Golf Tour's Woods One Open Hiroshima playing Srixon's Z-UR golf ball.

In Europe, on the European Senior Tour, Srixon Staff Professional Carl Mason tied for 3rd at the Nigel Mansell Classic playing with Srixon's UR-X to shoot a 4-under par. On the Ladies European Tour, Srixon Staff Professional Laura Davies also had a tie for 3rd at the Ladies English Open playing Srixon's Z-UR prototype golf ball with a 10-under par score.

Srixon staff players and the new Z-UR golf balls have earned eight wins across the globe, and a total of 11 Top 10 finishes already this year on the PGA Tour, including seven Top 5 finishes.

Srixon's revolutionary Z-UR is constructed with an incredibly soft, shear-resistant, and membrane-thin urethane-elastomer cover measuring an astounding 0.02-inch thin and features the largest and fastest Energetic Gradient Growth core Srixon has ever developed. The Z-UR is a ball with tremendous initial velocity, ideal ball flight and aerodynamics, and pinpoint control and feel.
