Carlsbad, California -- The Sonartec SS-2.5 mid-faced fairway wood was named "Best in Test" by Golf World in the UK's panel test marking the second time in the last 12 months the magazine has awarded a Sonartec product their highest honor. The testing panel, which consisted of low, mid and high-handicappers, unanimously chose the SS-2.5 as the best club of the six clubs included in the test.

The SS-2.5 is the updated version of the SS-02 mid-faced model, which had been among the company's most popular products since its introduction in 2002. Sonartec upgraded the steel in the head of the SS-2.5 to the proprietary ST-385 "hot face" alloy, which produces higher ball launch velocity. Sonartec further improved upon its heel-toe perimeter weighting scheme, which makes the club head more stable and tightens the dispersion on errant shots. The new SS-2.5 is powered by the ultra-premium Fujikura Tour Platform 26.3 shaft.

According to the testers, the SS-2.5 was "the clear winner, which proved to be everybody's top choice." The tester's also deemed the club "powerful, easy to use and versatile." In addition, the SS-2.5 was described as "rock-solid across the face", and was said to "make the game easier."
