ORLANDO, Fla. -- Eagle Creek Golf Club has been recognized as having one of the best '19th Holes' in Central Florida by Orlando Magazine. The feature appears in the July issue of the Orlando lifestyle publication.
The honor is just another in a list of accolades placed on Eagle Creek Golf Club, which opened to rave reviews in March 2004. It was also named one of the 10 best new courses to open in Florida since 2000 by Travel & Leisure Golf magazine.
The author of the article, Michael Rowe, ranked his 10 favorite 19th holes in the area, which boasts nearly 150 golf courses. He placed Eagle Creek's grill room and bar at No. 7.
"The 19th hole at Eagle Creek definitely has maximized its potential," says Rowe in the article. "Eagle Creek's planners put the grill room and bar on the second level of the 14,000-square-foot clubhouse. And I've always wondered why more golf clubs don't do what Eagle Creek has done; surround the seating area with floor-to-ceiling windows. Combined with the skylight, it gives the illusion that you are still part of the golf going on around you."
The grill room overlooks the spectacular, risk-reward 18th hole, which is completely fronted by a lake. As Rowe added, "If you've finished playing, your entertainment comes from watching fellow golfers contemplate the 18th hole. Should they go for the green surrounded by water on this par 5" From the big number you just made, you could tell them they should lay up."
Along with the outstanding vista, the Eagle Creek grill room serves up a diverse menu for lunch, and can host group presentations and meetings in two separate rooms.
"You never tire of the view from the grill room," said Eagle Creek General Manager Gary Piotrowski. "A lot of thought went into the design of the room, not only for the view, but also for the flexibility."
Doug Barrow, Food and Beverage Director, was happy for his employees that Eagle Creek was ranked among such clubs as Isleworth.
"It is a great honor to be recognized by a publication like Orlando Magazine," said Barrow. "Our entire food and beverage team pays the utmost attention to every detail so the dining experience at Eagle Creek matches the quality of the building itself. This type of recognition rewards the extra effort."
Added Executive Chef Chris Vargas, "We are all very proud of our food and beverage operation, and of our golf course overall."
