Matrix unveils its "Matrix HB-T" tour weighted hybrid golf shaft

Fastest Growing Hybrid Shaft On PGA Tour Officially Hits The Golf Market

Brea, CA -- Matrix Composite Corporation (Matrix) has launched its Special Edition Tour Series "MATRIX HB-T", a tour weighted shaft specifically designed for hybrid golf clubs. The HB-T has been in use on the international PGA Tours since February and has earned a PGA Tour win in May at the "Zurich Classic of New Orleans".

During its "tour launch" in New Orleans, the HB-T, also known as "The Flame" for its red and yellow "flame" graphics, was the 3rd most played hybrid shaft, ahead of all offerings from Fujikura and Graphite Design. The HB-T also earned two 2nd place finishes on the PGA tour at the "FBR Open" in Phoenix and the "Chrysler Classic" in Tucson. Matrix Tour Staffer S. K. Ho won the Japan PGA Tour's "Japan PGA Championship" with the HB-T and is currently the # 1 player on the Japan PGA Tour money leader list. Matrix Tour Staff member K. J. Choi earned a victory with the HB-T at the "S.K. Telecom Korean Open". Like the Matrix driver shaft which was launched last week, the "Matrix Woven," the HB-T has been test marketed to a select group of Matrix dealers and distributors since February to an outstanding response.

"Matrix is happy to bring the "Matrix HB-T" to golfers everywhere," MCC Vice-President of Corporate Communications J.C. Beeson commented. "The performance of this outstanding shaft on Tour has been amazing. We did not expect to have a PGA Tour win, two Japan PGA Tour wins, an Asian Tour win, and several PGA Tour top tens this early, but this success says a lot about the immediate trust the best golfers in the world have in Matrix Shafts and in the "HB-T"s" performance. Unlike many early offerings for hybrid clubs, the "HB-T" was designed specifically to achieve optimal launch angles and spin rates desired from hybrid/utility clubs. We are proud that so many pros are relying on the Matrix brand in their "accuracy clubs" -- the irons and hybrid clubs. Matrix is already the far-and-away leader in graphite iron shaft consistency and technology. Now with the HB-T and 85HB, we are confident we will soon lead the hybrid category as well."

The MATRIX HB-T is available in a Low Trajectory (LT) or High Trajectory (HT) option and is currently available through any Matrix golf shaft dealer or distributor.
