Golf Life TV series, featuring 'what it's like to be a student at a golf academy'set to air nationwide

Avon, Colorado - June 24, 2005 - Action Television announces new concepts in golf television that will air July 2nd-July 16th, featuring what it's like to be a student at the David Leadbetter Academy in Champions Gate, Florida. The popular Golf Life series has traditionally featured high-end golf courses across the US, providing tips and information from resort destinations. With the addition of two new concepts, Golf Life Academy and Golf Life Gear, the series expands its brand by adding these two golf reality-show formats.

The first Golf Life Academy program follows three golfers with different handicaps as they go through a 3-day program at The David Leadbetter Academy outside Orlando, Florida. Golf Life documented the progress and interviewed instructors and students.

According to Executive Producer, Michael Billingsley, the original Academy episode was only going to be one show tracking 3 days at the Academy, but because there was so much more to the experience, it became two episodes, each airing two consecutive weeks each. Billingsley says he "....believes the trend toward reality programming will work well in featuring an Academy experience." He adds that "...more and more reality shows are not so much about a competition, as they are about real people overcoming challenges that are important to them. As viewers, we identify with these people and learn something in the process."

Blaik Shew, President of David Leadbetter Enterprises, states, "We are looking forward to seeing our flagship Academy featured through this interesting new reality show created by Golf Life. We were introduced to Michael Billingsley on a recent tour of our newest academy at Red Sky Ranch outside Vail, Colorado. I was impressed with Mike's excellent programs and the quality of work he has done for Red Sky Golf Club and Vail Resorts Development Company."

According to Steve Prevesk, an Academy participant on the show, "What I gained from the Academy improved my golf game tremendously."

Two episodes will premier in June with the announcement of Golf Life Academy and Golf Life Gear, joining the traditional Golf Life Destinations format. This makes Golf Life and golflife.net the umbrella brand that viewers can find on regional sports networks across the US and internationally through the internet.

Golf Life Gear can also be viewed through streaming video, along with all Golf Life episodes on golflife.net at their own leisure. Golf Life is currently airing in prime time in over 65 million homes on regional sports networks including Fox Sports Net, Comcast Sports Net and independents like Sun Sports and YES Network, as well as KTVT-CBS Dallas and KLAS-CBS Las Vegas.
