Ryan Moore, nation's top amateur, turns professional

Scottsdale, AZ. -- Ryan Moore, who capped a brilliant amateur career at the U.S. Open last week, has turned professional and signed a joint venture management agreement with Gaylord Sports Management and Moore Golf Management, Inc. Director of Business Development Cricket Musch will oversee Moore's affairs on behalf of Gaylord Sports, working closely with Ryan's father, Mike Moore, and brother, Jeremy Moore, Director of MGM, Inc. Moore begins his professional career this week at the Barclays Classic in Harrison, NY.

"We're delighted to have this unique opportunity," said Steve Loy, President/CEO of GSM. "Ryan is a tremendous young player with victories to his credit second to none. His father and brother have done and will continue to do an outstanding job of helping to shape his career and we're eager to bring our expertise to the effort."

Moore, 22, was a two-time first-team All-American at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. In 2004 Moore joined Jack Nicklaus as the only players to win the U.S. Amateur, NCAA Division I individual title and the Western Amateur in the same season. He also won his second U.S. Public Links title in three years, the Sahalee Players Championship and was a member of the victorious USA World Amateur team.

This year, in sharing 13th place Moore was the low amateur in the Masters, took fifth in the NCAA finals and earned both the Jack Nicklaus and Ben Hogan awards as the outstanding Division I golfer. He turned professional at Westchester Country Club, just a few miles from Winged Foot, the site of his U.S. Amateur victory.

Ryan Moore intends to play the Western Cialis Open next week and then will consider the many sponsor exemptions he's been offered.

"My first priority is to get my PGA TOUR card," said Moore, who is passing up his invitation to the British Open as the U.S. Amateur champion. "I'm playing to battle every week with the best players in the world and to win. I had a great time as an amateur but I have a great team around me and I feel now's the time to make this move."
