For a triple treat, Wailea Golf Club in Hawaii offers value-oriented pass

A nice perk of packing your bags and heading for Maui sometime over the next few months is extra value for your vacation. The Wailea Golf Club, whose three courses in upscale Wailea Resort have earned dozens of golf and travel awards, is now offering an attractive three-round package good through November 30, 2005.

Called the Wailea Triple Play Pass, the program is exactly what its name implies: three rounds per person, good on any or all of Wailea's courses. So if your favorite layout is, say, the Wailea Gold (where Jack Nicklaus recently won the biggest tournament paycheck of his career), you can use the Wailea Triple Play Pass to play it again.and again. Or, for a more varied experience, book your second and third tee times on Wailea's Blue and Emerald courses. (One treat of playing all three courses is that you'll be able to enjoy gorgeous ocean views from every single hole.)

If you choose to stay at any of Wailea's luxurious resort hotels or villas, the Wailea Triple Play Pass costs just $375 per person ($399 if you're staying outside Wailea). And, if three rounds aren't enough, additional rounds can be purchased from $125 per person. The pass is available until November 30, 2005, and subject to applicable state tax.

While you're at Wailea, you may also want to check out the new Wailea Golf Academy, a personalized instruction program home-based at the golf club's exclusive 12-acre outdoor training facility.

The school is led by Wailea's team of Class A golf professionals, and offers classes for individuals and small groups. All instructors are required to meet the PGA of America's educational standards, many of whom have received national and state recognition for their work.

One of the hallmarks of Wailea's academy is its flexibility. Programs are scheduled around the student's travel plans, rather than on pre-fixed days and times. The menu options include private instruction, video lessons, playing lessons, and half- and full-day schools. The full-day program covers the fundamentals of all basic ball striking motions, including putting, chipping, pitching and full swing; an evaluation of the student's strengths and weaknesses; two hours of on-course training on one of Wailea Golf Club's three courses; a digital video analysis of the student's golf swing and a video/DVD analysis of the lesson; a copy of the Wailea Golf Academy Manual; and lunch.

The Wailea Golf Club is one of Hawaii's largest resort golf clubs, located at the heart of Maui's world-class Wailea Resort. Each winter, the club hosts the televised Wendy's Champions Skins Game featuring such legendary players as Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus..
