SouthWood Golf Club of Tallahassee, Fla. to host Parent-Junior Challenge

SouthWood Golf Club – the award winning, upscale public course at the heart of one of Tallahassee’s most comprehensively designed communities – will host the Parent-Junior Challenge beginning at 12pm on Saturday, June 18.

Providing a healthy, active and enjoyable way for parents and their children to spend an afternoon together, this special event is open to the public and designed for children ages 18 and under. Prizes will be awarded to top performers in each of the five divisions, which are determined according to the age of junior golfers.

Incorporating the five teeing areas that distinguish SouthWood as one of America’s most player-friendly courses, The Parent-Junior Challenge will be played as a “Chapman” alternate shot format tournament. For children 10 and under, the Challenge will consist of a nine-hole round.

“We always look forward to hosting events that encourage junior golf,” says Beth Murphy, SouthWood’s Director of Golf. “This event in particular is an excellent opportunity for parents to join their children in healthy activity on the course.”

The per-team cost for juniors ages 10-and-under is $30 for members and $40 for non-members. For teams with juniors ages 11-18, the cost is $45 for members and $65 for non-members. The entry fee includes cart, range, prizes and an ice cream party.
For entry forms or more information, please visit www.stjoegolf.com or call 850.942.4653. Entries must have been received by Friday, June 10.
