(Powell Butte, Ore.) — The first site selection event at Brasada Ranch — a new 1,800-acre resort community located here in Central Oregon, 16 miles northeast of Bend — yielded a sellout of the 201 luxury resort home sites available during the initial two-day real estate launch, which concluded Sunday.
“These are exceptional results, but it speaks to the appeal of our year-round residential resort and the array of outstanding amenities we are offering,” said Jerry Andres, president and CEO of Eagle Crest, Inc. “Certainly, we are encouraged by the enthusiastic early response.”
This first phase included home sites that ranged in size from just under one-half acre to 1.3 acres, with certain parcels bordering the Peter Jacobsen-designed Brasada Canyons Golf Course, currently under construction. Including the first phase of home sites, a total of 900 residences will ultimately comprise Brasada Ranch, to include single-family homes and cabin-style homes.
The release of additional home sites will be announced later this summer, resort officials reported.
Site selection event reservation holders convened in the Community Discovery Center, Brasada Ranch’s brand-new, on-site sales office, home to exhibits about both the resort and region. It is the first completed structure at Brasada Ranch, which is a joint project by JELD-WEN, Inc., and Eagle Crest Inc., two of the Pacific Northwest’s most respected and enduring companies.
Formerly a working cattle ranch, Brasada Ranch sits 3,500 feet above sea level with an elevation gain of 600 feet on the western slope of the Cascades, presenting residents and golfers alike with striking mountain views of Mt. Jefferson, Three Sisters, Broken Top and Mt. Bachelor, as well as a 360-degree vista of the valley floor. Mt. Bachelor Ski Resort is less than an hour’s drive away, while Redmond’s Roberts Field airport (RDM) — which services Portland, Seattle, Salt Lake City and San Francisco with daily flights — is only 13 miles from Brasada Ranch.
The resort’s signature recreation amenity will be Brasada Canyons Golf Course, a private, championship 18-hole layout designed over 200 acres by Jacobsen and his partner, Jim Hardy. The back nine will open summer 2006, while the full 18 holes will be in operation by the fall 2006. Brasada Canyons, a year-round facility, marks Jacobsen’s first course design in Central Oregon.
Tennis courts, swimming pools and numerous hiking, biking and running trails also will be part of the resort’s recreation landscape.
