Orlando, FL - Dana Quigley highlighted a six-week run with a record tying eight straight birdies at the Bruno's Memorial Classic. This birdie run is just his most visible accomplishment, however. Quigley began using the Guerin Rife 2 Bar putter just six weeks ago kicking off this incredible run. Quigley states, "Since I picked up the 2 Bar putter I have had a 2nd, 5th, 7th, 2nd, and 4th thanks to this amazing putter. It has given me an enormous amount of confidence. I can honestly say that I have not hit one putt with this putter that hasn't felt solid. The stability, feel and alignment features have given me the confidence that I have every conceivable advantage you could ask for in a putter."
Quigley also adds, "in just six weeks I have catapulted to #1 on the money list, #1 in the Charles Schwab Cup standings, and #1 in putting thanks to the 2 Bar putter. I have made well over a half of million dollars with this putter and I can promise it will not be coming out of my bag anytime soon!" Quigley feels the switch to the 2 Bar has had a major impact on his performance. The truth is in the stats... the switch in putters helped to propel him to the top of the field in putting and earnings. As a coincidence, Quigley made the change at the suggestion of another top ranked player who won the FedEx Kinko's Classic with his 2 Bar putter just one week after introducing it to Quigley.
The 2 Bar putter is becoming a force on all the tours. In recent weeks Guerin Rife Putters has ranked as high as third on the Darrell Survey for the Champions Tour, behind only Ping and Callaway. This is an astounding accomplishment for a small company in an age of lucrative endorsement contracts. The 2 Bar takes technology to a whole new level. Matt Molloy, COO of Guerin Rife Putters, LLC explains, "The 2 Bar putter is actually the only fully self-adjustable putter on the market. It allows you to adjust both the lie angle and weighting in just seconds to suit your natural setup. It actually sets your line, positions the putter and balances your stroke. It literally talks to you and tells you when you are ready to putt thanks to the patented LieAline fitting system. And if that weren't enough, the patented RollGroove face technology gets the ball rolling faster without any skipping and skidding, unlike traditional putters. How much technology is too much? If it's legal it counts... enough said."
The Tour pros, teaching community, and amateurs alike are embracing the RollGroove technology as a major advancement that should eventually drive all putter design. The pros have always known that roll is the key to consistency. Guerin Rife's RollGroove Technology gets the ball rolling immediately. This technology is definitely the future of putter design. In fact, 1991 British Open Champion and one of the greatest putters the tour has ever seen, Ian Baker-Finch, believes "that within five years every putter will have grooved faced technology."
The 2 Bar putter design applies an overwhelming amount of innovation to alignment and balance. "The balance, feel and alignment aids give you a feeling of confidence you have to experience to believe. With this putter, you will never sweat the short ones again. If you pick the right line, the putter does the rest. The way the 2 bars frame the ball creating a track or path to the hole makes it virtually impossible to misalign the 2 Bar. It becomes so automatic you almost forget the bars are there after a while. I can't believe the buzz out here on the Champions Tour about the 2 Bar," says Quigley.
Matt Molloy, adds, "The Two Bar putter is literally the most technologically advanced putter ever designed. Five of the most desirable and significant advancements in putter technology have been cleverly designed into the beautifully CNC milled 2 Bar putter. It features: RollGroove Technology; the LieAline Fitting System; Adjustable Speed Weighting; Four Point Stability Weighting; and the two bars for perfect alignment. The fact that, RollGroove technology allows the ball to be gripped and lifted into a forward roll - instead of coming off the face with backspin like standard putters - is a benefit all players understand. However, it is not the only performance enhancing technology in the 2 Bar. We let the player determine what technology is most important to them."
This putter makes a difference- a big difference in fact. So much so, that the improved performance can easily be seen by comparing it side by side to any putter on the market using high speed film footage. And on top of that, the putter feels softer than any other putter on the market because the grooves equate to less contact surface area. However, don't confuse RollGroove technology with the small cosmetic grooves that some manufacturers are now claiming produce the same effects of RollGroove technology. Small cosmetic grooves have no tangible difference when compared to standard flat face technology because the grooves are too small and too far apart. According to Guerin Rife, "when the putter makes contact at such a slow speed the grooves have to be very close together leaving a narrow contact surface to grip and lift the ball in to an immediate no-skid forward roll."
"It is very rewarding and validating to see the acceptance of my putter line and technologies on the various tours. I have spent over ten years perfecting my craft, and it is exciting to see it finally catch on," says Guerin Rife.
Just like the change from wood to metal drivers and muscle back to cavity back irons, once golfers understand and accept the benefit, there will be no looking back.
