PGA Golf Club of Port St. Lucie, Fla., will mark its third season of its "Home to the Pros, Free to America's Youth" program by also installing "Kid-Friendly Tees" on its golf courses.
The Home to the Pros, Free to America's Youth program, which encourages family golf participation, runs from Memorial Day, May 30, 2005, through Labor Day, Sept. 5. 2005. Youth 21 years of age and younger may play complimentary at any of the PGA Golf Club courses after 11 a.m. Monday through Friday, and after 2 p.m. on weekends and holidays with a paid adult.
The new "Kid-Friendly" Tees are in conjunction with U.S. Kids Golf, which is a Product Demonstration Partner at the nearby PGA Learning Center. Under the program, there are two sets of tees for youths in varying age and skill levels. The tees range from 2,200 to 3,800 yards.
"We are excited about the opportunity the Kid-Friendly Tees will present for boys and girls and for families enjoying the game at PGA Golf Club," said PGA Golf Club Director of Golf Bud Taylor. "This is another step in our efforts to promote participation in the game."
For tee time reservations, call (800) 800-GOLF (4653).
The programs are part of Play Golf America, an industry-wide initiative to encourage participation in golf. Consumers may also visit www.playgolfamerica.com to learn more about these and other programs that are designed to encourage more people to play golf.
