Grande Dunes hole #10 is one of the Carolinas' most spectacular holes

Myrtle Beach, S.C—A panel of judges has named the tenth hole at Grande Dunes Golf Club one of the most spectacular holes in the Carolinas. The findings, reported in the latest issue of CarolinaLiving.com magazine (Volume XVIII, Number 1), praised the 449-yard, par 4 hole as one that “features dramatic views” of the Intracoastal Waterway and the Mediterranean-themed Grande Dunes marina, bridge, and homes.

The panel selected 18 holes throughout North and South Carolina as its most spectacular. Grande Dunes Golf Club is one of only 5 courses on the list that are open to public play; all others are private. Designed by Roger Rulewich, a former member of the Robert Trent Jones design team, Grande Dunes is one of two championship courses at Grande Dunes, a 2200-acre community that stretches from the ocean to the western side of the Intracoastal Waterway in Myrtle Beach, S. C.

The second course, the Grande Dunes Members Club Course designed by PGA Hall of Fame golfer Nick Price and award-winning golf course architect Craig Schreiner, just opened in June, 2005.

CarolinaLiving.com is the “Official Guide To Relocation & Retirement” for North Carolina and South Carolina. The panel of judges consisted of golf writers and raters who have worked with national magazines such as Golf Digest, GOLF magazine, Golfweek, and Sports Illustrated.

The course has numerous elevation changes and features wide Bermuda fairways, generous L-93 bent grass greens, and more than 34 acres of fresh water lakes.

When it opened, Grande Dunes was named one of the “Top 10 You Can Play” in America by GOLF magazine and recently Golfweek named it one of America’s “Top 100 Residential Golf Courses.”
