Coeur d'Alene Resort package showcases floating green

COEUR D'ALENE, ID, - For 15 years the floating green has served as the symbol of The Coeur d'Alene Resort, located on the shores of one of America's most picturesque lakes. As part of a special vacation package this golf season, the resort's signature par-3 14th hole awaits guests who want to experience hitting to a target that floats on the surface of Lake Coeur d'Alene.

The Floating Green Golf Package includes accommodations in a choice of room categories and two rounds of golf on the award-winning Coeur d'Alene Resort Course, one of the most breathtaking designs in the world.

The package features a shared golf cart, unlimited privileges at the "over-the-water" practice range on day of play, a forecaddie, chair massage at the practice range, club storage and customized bag tags. In addition, guests receive breakfast daily at the Dockside Restaurant and evening beverage service for each player at the popular Beverly's Lounge.

Rates for this package begin at $318 per person, based on double occupancy.

The famed floating green at the 14th hole shifts position on the water daily, directed by a computerized mechanical system that allows the distance from the tees to range from 100 to 220 yards. A wooden water taxi - named "Putter" - shuttles golfers from dock-to-dock, with a pilot at the wheel.

Designed by Scott Miller, a protégé of Jack Nicklaus, the par-71 Coeur d'Alene Resort Course covers 200 acres and plays to a maximum 6,735 yards.

Designated as one of only 20 Gold Medal resort courses in America by Golf Magazine and as a Five-Star course by Golf Digest readers, the golf course has also received acclaim from the Urban Land Institute for its superior design and is the only course in the northwest to be approved by the Audubon Sanctuary.

In addition to magnificent golf and well-appointed rooms, The Coeur d'Alene Resort offers golfers and non-golfers a complete array of vacation amenities. With rejuvenating spa treatments, sumptuous cuisine, lake cruises and the many recreational opportunities available nearby, this Four-Star resort is the destination of choice for discerning travelers worldwide.

With its idyllic landscape, year-round activities and spectacular setting, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho has been christened the "Playground of the Northwest." Fly-fishing, mountain biking, casinos, performing arts and an assortment of cultural attractions unique to the Pacific Northwest are but a sample of the many features easily accessible from The Coeur d'Alene Resort.

The Resort also offers a "floating green gift card," which makes an ideal gift for the golfer who has everything. Gift cards are available in any denomination and may be purchased for golf rounds, equipment, or overnight golf packages.
