Three of the top names in European golf have confirmed their places in next month's Ladies' English Open.
Solheim Cup star Laura Davies, defending champion Maria Hjorth and French ace Patricia Meunier-Lebouc will line up at Chart Hills in Kent, from July 8-10.
The high-class triple entry comes as a huge boost to tournament organisers and officials from Chart Hills, the Leaderboard Group-owned club which late last year signed up to host the Ladies' English Open for the next five years.
"Having such big names in the world of ladies' golf playing at Chart Hills is fantastic and shows the regard in which the tournament is held," said David Walls, general manager of Biddenden-based Chart Hills.
"Laura has been a linchpin of the English game for many years and her record speaks for itself, Maria is coming back as the defending champion which always adds appeal to any tournament, and Patricia is a former Solheim Cup player.
"The quality which the three players bring to Chart Hills cannot be understated."
Davies, Hjorth and Meunier-Lebouc will be joined at Chart Hills by current Weetabix British Open champion Karen Stupples, who hopes to follow up her stunning Sunningdale success with victory on home soil.
"Any week can be anyone's tournament," said Dover-born Stupples, who finished third last year behind Hjorth at the Nick Faldo-designed Chart Hills. "I came close last year, now I want to win it!"
She added: "I played Chart Hills for the first time last year and I really liked it. It's a lot like an American course in its set up - it's well bunkered and has water featuring all around the course."
"The Ladies' European Tour did a great job with the English Open at Chart Hills last year and I'm really looking forward to playing there again in July."
Off the course, London-based online gaming company King Solomon's Poker last week agreed a title sponsorship deal while Sitex, based in Tenterden, Kent, is sponsoring the English Open's four pro-am tournaments, held over two days from July 5-6.
