Mitchell Golf Equipment Institute graduates club repair technicians

Mitchell® Golf Equipment Institute completed its spring schedule of Club Repair Technician Schools May 25, 2005. The spring session began right after the PGA Merchandise Show. The fall session begins in September and runs into December of this year. Schools are taught at Orange County National Golf Resort on the campus of Professional Golfer’s Career College.

Ed Mitchell states, “We are very pleased with the enrollment in our schools at our new campus. Our spring session has just ended but we are already booking students for our fall schedule. I encourage all industry professionals to enhance their career skills by signing up now for our fall classes.”

Mitchell® Club Repair Technician schools include instruction and hands-on experience in re-shafting, re-gripping and measuring & bending golf club angles. Students attend an extensive 3-day class related to all types of club repair. Classes include detailed lectures concerning club specifications and performance, followed by hands on experience in Mitchell® Golf’s state of the art club repair lab. Each attendee learns repair techniques necessary for today’s modern golf club designs including frequency matching golf shafts.

Graduates from our May 23rd class included Todd Jordan, Kissimmee, FL; Dr. Joe Kolezynski, PGCC, Windermere, FL; William Petsch, Pro Golf of Jersey City, NJ; and Brian Wood, PGA Learning Center, Port St. Lucie, FL.

Four Club Repair Technicians Schools are scheduled this fall starting in September. “Any industry professional wishing to enhance their club repair skills should attend this school”, states Paul Bessler, PGA Golf Professional and school instructor. “Repairing today’s golf clubs is simply re-gripping, re-shafting, and adjusting angles. Our students learn these skills using the best repair equipment available.”

Students worked with recognized products from Mitchell® Golf Equipment Company, True Temper, KZG, Rapport Composites, Swing Science, Grafalloy and Golf Pride. Mitchell® Club Repair Technician schools are held throughout the year with a tuition of $295.00. Tuition includes tools and supplies necessary for certification. Registration for classes can be done online at www.mitchellgolf.com or by telephone at 800-437-1314.
