Total Golf Adventures sponsors Middle-Atlantic PGA section

SANTA MONICA, CA -- Total Golf Adventures, (TGA) the only national at-school, after-school golf program in the country and the leading initiative to grow junior golf, has announced that they are a Supporting Sponsor of the Middle-Atlantic PGA section (MAGPA) for 2005-2006.

TGA's sponsorship will be used to support all programs run by MAPGA including junior golf, tournaments, education, and scholarships. TGA is one of forty sponsors and is the only junior program involved on this level.

"Our mission is to grow junior golf and create future players, PGA members, and increase the number of rounds played," said Joshua Jacobs, Owner/Director of TGA. "We are pleased to be partnering with the MAPGA as it provides us an opportunity to work with section members and directly support PGA programs that have the same goals as we do," he added.

TGA's program, suitable for children in grades K-8, extends beyond learning and honing the golf swing. The company's mission is to create develop a child's passion for the game of golf through a program that develops and improves their motor skills and coordination, encourages their advancement, and builds their confidence and self-esteem. The specially designed curriculum was created with input from industry leading PGA Professionals and PhD's in Child Development. Students' sense of achievement and accomplishment is fostered as they move through a three level program (Yellow, Red and Black Levels).

The Middle Atlantic PGA Section (MAPGA), located in Stafford, Virginia, is one of 41 Sections of the Professional Golfers' Association of America, headquartered in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The PGA of America, formed in 1916, has grown into the world's largest working sports organization with more than 27,000 members and apprentices. Its mission is to promote enjoyment and involvement in the game of golf and to contribute to the game's growth by providing services to golf professionals and the industry. The MAPGA has been a part of the PGA since 1925, and consists of over 1,100 golf professionals in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC. There are over 900,000 golfers playing more than 16.5 million rounds of golf a season in the Middle Atlantic region. There are over 600 operating golf facilities, of which approximately 70 percent employ a PGA professional (83% of facilities with 18 holes or more).

The MAPGA (www.mapga.com) provides a wide variety of programs and assistance to support its members, who in turn, provide valuable service not only to their golfing customers, but also to their communities in general. PGA professionals assist in raising over $6 million annually for local charities.
