Brea, CA - Matrix Composite Corporation's (www.mccshafts.com) has announced that K.J. Choi used MCC Shafts in his driver, fairway wood, hybrid and irons en route to a commanding five-stroke victory at the Asian PGA Tour "SK Telecom Open", which was held in Seoul, Korea. Choi, a Korean native who is currently ranked number 27 in the World Golf Rankings, earned his second victory in three years at the "SK Telecom Open", which he also won in 2003. Choi, who is an MCC tour staff player, earned last weekend's victory with MCC's "MFS Matrix" in his driver. The Matrix is MCC's top-of-the-line driver shaft. Choi also competed with "MFS 115" shafts in his irons. The MCC "MFS 115s" were the number one graphite iron shaft on the PGA Tour last year. K.J.'s hybrid featured the new "MFS HBT" shaft and he had an MCC "prototype" shaft in his fairway wood. Choi's final round 69 propelled him to his first victory of the 2005 golf season.
"We are very happy that K.J. got his first win of the season last weekend," MCC Chief Operating Officer Daniel You stated. "While I have not spoken to him yet, I read that he worked very hard on his putting and K.J. feels that is what put him over the top on the way to his five stroke victory. We are very proud that K.J. uses our shafts in all his clubs and this win again validates the performance of our products. We look forward to seeing K.J. upon his return to the States and hope that this victory gives him momentum to add a few more victories on the PGA Tour through the end of this year. The entire staff here at MCC Shafts would like to congratulate K.J. Choi for his victory at the ‘SK Telecom Open'. I am sure that he was thrilled to win in his native Korea."
