PACOIMA, Calif. — Claiming its third professional tour win in two weeks, Harrison Sports ruled the final round in Raleigh and topped the competition at The Rex Hospital Open. The victory came on the Nationwide Tour at the TPC at Wakefield Plantation in Raleigh, N.C., with this week's champion playing a Harrison Striper Tour shaft in his 3-wood.
Making just his sixth career start on Tour, this year's Rex Hospital Open champion relied heavily on his 3-wood, using the Harrison-shafted club for every tee shot down the stretch. As a result, he recorded a final-round 4-under-par 67 for his first career win on the Nationwide Tour.
"We congratulate this week's winner on his first Nationwide win," says Arnie Cunningham, PGA Tour representative for Harrison Sports and a 20-year veteran of working with Tour players. "He trusted his 3-wood assembled with a Harrison Striper Tour (70-gram) graphite shaft, and its performance didn't let him down. Last year, Harrison had the "Hottest New Shaft on Tour," and — now with three champions on three pro tours in two weeks — you can't get much hotter than that."
The Harrison Striper Tour shaft features a low spin rate, a slightly higher launch angle, and the tightest shot dispersion of any shaft on the pro Tour. Striper Tour shafts are available in 60-, 70- and 80-gram weight options with flexes ranging from Senior to Extra-Stiff. In addition, nearly all of the Top 10 golf club companies have picked up the Striper Tour shaft as a custom-fit option.
Harrison shafts are all-American made from the finest in graphite, titanium and boron materials and are among the Top Five of the most-used graphite shafts in the world. As technologically superior as they are eye-catching, Harrison shafts have become a popular and growing choice among Tour professionals, clubmakers and golf enthusiasts. Harrison shafts are available from more than 6000 local dealers throughout the United States. Please call 800.347.4646 or e-mail us at info@harrison.com for a dealer near you.
