Golf Whistler introduces Kids Play Free and the first annual Family Links Golf Festival

Whistler, B.C. – Whistler loves families and families will love Whistler even more this year thanks to Golf Whistler’s new Junior Golf Program aimed at building interest and golf opportunities for kids and parents. In an unprecedented move, all four championship golf courses in Whistler will be adding Junior Tees and at each of the three village-based courses Kids Play Free all season long if accompanied by a paying adult. The program kicks off with the first annual Whistler Family Links Golf Festival presented by Global TV, May 20 – 22.

“Whistler is a favourite place for parents and kids, and golf is a great way to bring the entire family together,” says Dean Larson, Chair of Golf Whistler and Director of Sales and Marketing for Big Sky Golf and Country Club. “Golf Whistler wanted to put something together that celebrates families and encourages kids to come out and enjoy the game. We think this exciting program will do just that.”

The Whistler Family Links Festival offers kids and the young-at-heart a weekend of golf and light-hearted fun complete with exciting prizes, golf clinics, special deals, a wrap-up celebration and much more. Festival participants will also enjoy special long drive exhibitions performed by Brian Pavlet, the number one ranked long driver in the world, on May 21 and 22. Entry for the two-day festival is $99 Cdn ($79 US) for adults and $50 Cdn ($40 US) for kids ages 10 to 18. For those looking for extra golf tips, kids are invited to check out one of the many junior golf clinics offered at all the golf courses throughout the season.
