PGA Teaching Professional Jim Hardy of Houston, will be joined on Monday, May 16, by perhaps his most recognizable student, Tour Professional Peter Jacobsen, as The Golf Channel continues its celebration of PGA Free Lesson Month.
Hardy, author of The Plane Truth for Golfers, is one of several premier PGA Teaching Professionals appearing on "Golf Academy Live," which airs at 7:30 p.m. EDT, on The Golf Channel.
Suzy Whaley of Farmington, Conn., a PGA Teaching Professional at Blue Fox Run Golf Club in Avon, Conn., will be the guest on Monday, May 23. Whaley made history in 2003, by becoming the first woman since Babe Zaharias in 1945 to qualify for a berth in a Tour event.
PGA Master Professional Jim McLean of Miami, the 1994 PGA Teacher of the Year from Doral Golf Resort & Spa, will wrap up PGA Free Lesson Month with a Monday, May 30, Memorial Day appearance.
These PGA Professionals are part of more than 6,800 PGA Professionals who have donated free 10-minute lessons at more than 5,500 facilities nationwide. The PGA Professional participation total surpasses the previous record of 4,993 PGA Professionals, who provided more than 92,000 free lessons in May 2004.
The PGA of America is partnering in PGA Free Lesson Month with The Golf Channel, Golf Digest and its sister publication, Golf For Women. Nike Golf is the official sponsor.
"Golf Academy Live" is The Golf Channel's showcase teaching program that regularly features PGA Professionals demonstrating golf tips and answering questions from callers nationwide.
