SMT Golf captures two titles at the New Zealand RE/MAX long drive finals

Oswego, IL - SMT Golf, The Longest Driver On Any PGA Tour, is pleased to congratulate Davyn Nola and Sepp Steffany on their recent victories in the Open and Senior Divisions at the New Zealand RE/MAX Long Drive Championships this past weekend in Queenstown New Zealand. With these two most recent victories under their belt, SMT has now recorded multiple Long Drive Championships in six different countries.

Amazingly, SMT Golf has managed to stay one of the most often used drivers in Long Drive competitions despite the fact that they DO NOT pay players to use their equipment.

"Victories like this are always exciting," commented Mike Tait, President of SMT Golf, "and it's a great endorsement for the equipment we make, but I'm just as proud of the fact that guys like Davyn and Sepp have chosen to play our equipment based solely on it's performance. These guys are constantly being offered money from other companies to play their equipment, but they don't. They pass on the endorsement money and play SMT. That's the biggest compliment of all."

A 5 Degree SMT Spectrum driver, along with this victory in New Zealand, is Davyn's guaranteed ticket to the RE/MAX World Long Drive Finals in Nevada later this year. After winning the Open Division Championship, Davyn and 3 of the top competitors from New Zealand teamed up to compete against the Australian Long Drivers team in a New Zealand vs. Australia showdown. The international team competition was a shoot-out format where everyone hits one drive and the worst drops off until they are down to the final two. Nola literally hit his final drive through the target grid and into the rough, capturing the victory for the Aussie's and proving that SMT drivers stretch well beyond the limitations of most other drivers and are rewriting the definition of "Added Distance."

Sepp Steffany successfully defended his 2004 Championship Title with the help of his SMT O2 driver. Only ten minutes of warm up time in the cold and windy conditions were no match for this winning combination as Steffany notched a second victory for SMT Golf at this event.
