GEAR for Sports pioneers state-of-the-art technology

LENEXA, Kan. - GEAR for Sports has made a major investment in state-of-the-art technology to provide customers with unprecedented styling and highly unique decoration concepts. GEAR is first-to-market, and has exclusive rights within the textile decoration industry, with a new and sophisticated technology called Fusion Process.

Fusion Process is currently being utilized in two different applications. The first application is called Sheared Fleece, which involves shearing-off the pile on a garment, therefore creating the desired pattern in the fibers of the garment. The second application is called Soft Touch; dye is removed from a garment to create a pattern on the garment. However, to the touch the garment maintains a consistent feel as if it had not been decorated. "The objective of Fusion Process is to provide a decorated, but understated product, with this new tonal decoration option," noted Kristin Patton, senior analyst and product developer - golf division.

Fusion Process has been attributed to driving the innovative fleece business for GEAR, which saw double-digit growth in its' Fallon Micro Fleece crew over the past year. Additionally, the pre-season bookings for the women's Stretch Micro Fleece is triple the Company's initial unit forecast. Fusion Process is also available in the ever-popular Big Cotton styles including tees and fleece. "This is an unbelievable, industry-leading, ground-breaking decoration process exclusive to GEAR for Sports that will propel sales to the next level," stated Angela Resch, director of brand management for corporate, golf and resort divisions.

GEAR offers Fusion Process garments with low minimums and decoration specific program discounts. GEAR will continue to offer "Fusion Friendly" styles in future lines. For more information call 1-800-255-1065.
