Mitchell® Golf Equipment Institute completed another Club Repair Technician School May 4, 2005. Mitchell® Golf Equipment Institute’s training schools are very popular with industry professionals. Enrollment continues to increase since moving to Orange County National Golf Center & Lodge in Orlando, Florida.
Ed Mitchell states, “We are very thankful with the response we are getting with our schools at our new campus. Our spring session ends this month. I encourage all industry professionals to enhance their career skills by signing up now for our fall classes.”
Mitchell® Club Repair Technician schools include instruction and hands-on experience in re-shafting, re-gripping and measuring & bending golf club angles. Students attend an extensive 3-day class related to all types of club repair. Classes include detailed lectures concerning club specifications and performance, followed by hands on experience in Mitchell® Golf’s state of the art club repair lab. Each attendee learns repair techniques necessary for today’s modern golf club designs including frequency matching golf shafts.
Graduates from our May 7th class included Kurt Bergener, David Bergener, & Carl Bergener, Pro Golf of Royal Palm Beach, West Palm Beach, FL; Elliot Hunt, Assistant Golf Professional, Atlantis Golf Club, Boynton Beach, FL; Samuel Puryear, Jr., East Lake Junior Golf Academy, Atlanta, GA; Jeff Rennert, Jeff's Golf Club Repair, Vero Beach, FL; and Jim Vaughn, Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
Paul Bessler and Jay Schrader, both PGA Professionals instruct the Mitchell® Golf Equipment Institute schools. “Our recent class developed the skills necessary to be a Certified Club Repair Technician,” states Paul Bessler. “The hands-on repairs the students completed during class makes them capable of performing re-shafting, re-gripping, loft/lie alteration or any other repair on all of today’s modern golf clubs. I am confident all of our new graduates will make club repair a profit center in their shops. We are proud to have this great group join our alumni of Mitchell® Club Repair Technicians.
