BOSTON - Just in time for Mother's Day, tickets for the inaugural BJ's Charity Championship at Granite Links Golf Club at Quarry Hills, August 5-7 are on sale now.
The BJ's Charity Championship is one of four stops on the Women's Senior Golf Tour's (Official Senior Tour of the LPGA) 2005 schedule and the final competition of the season. Sponsored by BJ's Wholesale Club, the BJ's Charity Championship will consist of a one-day Pro-Am event (August 5) and two-day Professional Tournament (August 6-7). The Professional Tournament will be played in a 36-hole best-ball format featuring 26 two-player teams and a $400,000 prize purse.
Early commitments include some of women's most legendary golfers and prominent players including four with New England roots: Pat Bradley, Patty Sheehan, JoAnne Carner and Jane Blalock. Blalock, Bradley, Sheehan and Carner have won 135 LPGA Tournaments combined. Also playing in the Championship will be LPGA Hall of Famers, Jan Stephenson, Sally Little, Tammie Green and Nancy Lopez (Pro-Am only).
