Nike golf appoints Beth Gast to public relations manager

BEAVERTON, Ore. (April 26, 2005) - Nike Golf today announced the appointment of Beth Gast to Public Relations Manager, effective May 10, according to Nike Golf's Director of Marketing, Chris Mike.

Gast will oversee all public relations activities for Nike Golf. As such, she will be responsible for establishing strategic direction, media relations, utilization of athletes and sports marketing programs for the public relations events related to all Nike Golf product categories. Those include equipment, golf clubs, golf balls, apparel and footwear. She also will be responsible for the overall development of strategic integrated communications plans for Nike Golf.

Gast will succeed Dean Stoyer, who is moving to another position within Nike Inc. Stoyer has been with Nike Golf since 2002.

"We are very excited to add Beth to the marketing team. Her experience and industry knowledge will pay immediate dividends to Nike Golf." said Mike.

Gast, who has worked in the golf industry for 20 years, most recently served as the Vice President/Account Manager of Nashville, Tennessee-based public relations agency Alday Communications, Inc. In her seven years at the agency, Gast has been instrumental in assembling a strong repertoire of golf clientele, including The PGA of America's Play Golf America campaign; PGA Free Lesson Month; NancyLopezGolf; LPGA Tour players Dottie Pepper and Rosie Jones; Val Skinner's LIFE Event; GolfTEC and Royal Precision.

Previous to her time at Alday Communications, Gast served in various public relations positions at the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) for 12 years. Using her public relations talents, Gast implemented public relations campaigns with an emphasis on LPGA positioning and image. In doing so, Gast expanded the LPGA's media horizons by placing the LPGA brand and personalities in non-traditional sports media outlets as well as golf trades.
