CareerLinks, The PGA of America's employment-referral service that identifies qualified PGA Professionals for industry employers, has captured its fourth consecutive BoardRoom Magazine Excellence in Achievement Award, as the 2004 Association Program of the Year.
"The PGA of America is thankful that BoardRoom Magazine recognizes PGA CareerLinks as being a valuable resource to the golf industry," said John Henry, director of Employment Services for The PGA of America. "CareerLinks' success and value is attributable to the fact that it is fast, effective and provided on a complimentary basis. CareerLinks' annual growth and increased utilization is a testimony to its ability to foster successful employment relationships between employers and PGA Professionals."
An independent panel of industry experts, representing various aspects of course and club operations, reviewed the entries received and selected winners for overall excellence in their respective fields; achievements; innovation; vision for future growth; and continued impact on private club operations.
Industry leaders gathered at the awards presentation, which was held in February at the Anaheim (Calif.) Marriott, in conjunction with the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) Conference. BoardRoom Magazine is the CMAA's "official publication for private club board members and directors."
CareerLinks is the PGA of America's complimentary employment referral service that notifies PGA Professionals about employment opportunities that meet their employment preferences and qualifications. CareerLinks utilizes a state-of-the art, Web-enabled database and a team of nine regional PGA Career Consultants, whose goal is to serve as the official hiring resource for industry employers.
