FRESNO, California - Running Horse Golf & Country Club announced today that it has selected Jack Nicklaus and Jack Nicklaus II to co-design the new golf course being built as the centerpiece to a 200-acre development southwest of Fresno. This will be the 14th golf course in California designed by Nicklaus Design, the North Palm Beach, Fla. based company that is considered the world's leading golf course design firm. Nicklaus Design, as a company, has 281 courses open for play in 28 countries and 37 states. Of those Jack Nicklaus has 235 courses open for play worldwide, including 196 solo designs, 11 redesigns and 28 co-designs, including 13 with his oldest son Jack II.

This gated community will consist of 750 home sites, with the majority of the homes residing on the 18-hole championship golf course. The property is easily accessible directly off of Highway 180. Every hole will be carefully crafted to test the golfer's skill and highlight the natural beauty by incorporating water features and undulating terrain. This course will be capable of hosting tournament play on every level, but will be designed with the member' needs in mind and will appeal to players of all abilities.
The spacious, 30,000 square foot Clubhouse at Running Horse will demonstrate architecture at its finest. With a Mediterranean flair, grand woodwork, custom stone and vaulted ceilings, Running Horse will balance elegance with comfort. The Clubhouse will contain a top-of-the-line pro shop, a grille restaurant and bar, banquet facilities able to accommodate up to 400 guests, a classic boardroom with accommodations for 15-20 guests, wedding and reception facilities, fitness center and a world-class spa with men's and women's locker rooms.
